MAZATLÁN.- For more film productions to turn to Mazatlán, it requires more than being a sun and beach destination, other factors imply, beyond government permits, there is talk of cordiality on the part of the citizenry.

The Secretary of Tourism, Eliazar Gamboa de la Parra, expressed that among the tips that Mazatlán or Sinaloa can apply to attract this tourist segment is precisely more cordiality and accessibility of its citizens towards the productions, especially when it comes to closing of roads.

“They ask that we be a friendly state to productions, that if they ask us today to close this street that they liked, more than anything people understand it and let them work and that they have found in Durango, it is not a government job It belongs to the people ”, he declared.

Gamboa de la Parra pointed out that a few months ago there was a merger between Mazatlán and Durango, both participated as headquarters in series production for Disney Plus that will be released soon and will show several states of the country.

Durango has a long history as a film venue, from Old West movies, as well as productions that you have seen more than once such as La Máscara del Zorro with Antonio Banderas.

Mazatlán for a couple of years has hosted several productions for both broadcast and streaming television, including Acapulco Shore, episodes of telenovelas such as El Dragón de Televisa, and the movie “Destino 111”, although the latter toured the entire country.

However, in the 80s and 90s, “La Perla del Pacífico” hosted several film productions and soap operas that left their mark on the history of the port.

“We have different projection mechanisms for films to come, nothing else comes because yes, we have to do a lot of work, we have gone to knock on the doors of the United States,” said the Secretary of Tourism in Durango.

In the last three years, Durango has added around 14 series and films already on the screen and more that will soon be released in cinemas and platforms.
