By majority vote, the National Political Council (CPN) of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) rejected this Sunday the request for permission of the former governor of Sinaloa, Quirino Ordaz Coppel, to collaborate with the federal government of Morena, and become ambassador of Mexico in Spain.
The PRI members pointed to the former governor for the defeat and remember that he did nothing because of the climate of insecurity against the militancy
In a session of the CPN, some PRI members accused the former Governor of Sinaloa of covering up the violent acts that took place during the electoral contest on June 6, which resulted in the defeat of the PRI.
In a statement, the president of the National Executive Committee, Alejandro Moreno, affirmed that the party made a responsible and coherent decision with the needs facing the PRI.
“It is a sovereign, democratic decision, with a clear and wide majority,” he specified at the close of the extraordinary session of the CPN in which it was agreed to reject the dispensation requested on September 13 by Quirino Ordaz, after it was debated, with the participation of speakers for and against allowing the former state president to collaborate with a government emanating from a party other than the tricolor.
The only federal deputy for Sinaloa, Paloma Sánchez, voted against granting the license.
In the debate, against the request, Augusto Gómez Villanueva pointed out that it transcends the intentions of undermining the internal life of the party and trying to sabotage the alliance that has been integrated with the National Action (PAN) and the Democratic Revolution parties. (PRD).
For her part, the counselor Maritza Jiménez Pérez, claimed that the PRI leadership in Sinaloa did not join the appeal that was presented around the June 6 election.
“These acts harm and hurt our militancy. The Sinaloa PRI must feel offended, because it is more concerned with looking for a job, instead of looking after its militants. They use acronyms and the strength of our militants when it suits them, ”he said.
In turn, Hiram Hernández Zetina specified that the former governor’s request is to work with the Morena government.
“We all know the results of the June 6 election, where it was news and national shame that there was terror, fear, violence, uprisings. Party officials were raised so that they could not organize and mobilize the PRI members to vote, ”he explained.
