Mazatlán, Sinaloa. – After 3 months of waiting, the municipal Public Services Department finally received the first 3 garbage collection trucks this morning and the delivery of another 2 is expected this afternoon, as announced by the director of the agency, Miguel Luis Morales Lizárraga.

“The first 3 arrived today and in the course of the afternoon the rest arrive, 2 more. So, it means that as of today we will have 5 collection trucks ”, he assured.

The municipal official commented that the new trucks are very similar to those that had already been acquired previously.

“They are automatic, they are trucks with compactor boxes, they bring a technology that is not aggressive with the environment, they use a liquid that transform gases or fuels and are not aggressive to the environment,” he said.

Morales Lizárraga, commented that the units that have already arrived are currently labeling and as soon as the plating and insurance process is in place, they will start working for what is estimated to be a maximum of 3 to 5 days.

He commented that these 5 new units will be added to the 38 that currently cover the vehicle fleet in the garbage collection service and it is expected that with the arrival of these trucks, the service will be made even more efficient.

For his part, the municipal treasurer, Jesús Javier Alarcón Lizárraga, revealed that 12 million pesos will have to be paid for the 5 units, so each truck would cost around 2.5 million pesos and they are resources that are already designated.
