Mazatlán, Sin.- For next year, Mazatlán will have a new cruise terminal, one of a kind in the country, and attractive not only for shipping tourism, but also for locals.

The municipal secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries, Luis Terán Tirado, commented that dredging has already begun in the area of ​​the Ferry dock and the work is scheduled to begin in December of this year.

He assured that the resources of the Federal government, in the order of 300 million pesos, are already ready and it will be the Comprehensive Port Administration of Mazatlán that will carry out the new renovation of the cruise terminal in its entirety.

“ The resources are already there, they are dredging and the work is going to begin, this is a fact and it will be beautiful. It will give it a totally different face, because not only does that work come, the work of the Lighthouse will come, the treatment plant will be removed and it will be a work that was needed, ”he said.

Terán Tirado explained that it will have nothing to do with what is currently the entrance of cruise ships, but that it will be an open esplanade for both tourists and locals to know, since there will be a restaurant area.

” They are more practical accesses, less dangerous for passengers, there will be an area of ​​bars, restaurants, and other people who will be able to enter to see the cruise ships closer, will be able to go to consume, up to certain areas delimited by immigration and customs, ” he said. .

The head of Sedectur estimated that by the first half of 2023 the complete work will be completed, along with the park area that will be at the foot of Cerro del Crestón, right where the water treatment plant is.
