Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Hurricane “Pamela” did not affect reservations in the Mazatlán hotel, for this weekend high occupancy is expected in the lodging centers.

The president of the Tres Islas Hotels Association, José Ramón Maguart Sánchez, confirmed that 55 and 60% occupancy is planned for the weekend in the establishments on Del Mar Avenue.

“We are operating normally and for the weekend there will be a good impact, fortunately, the storm did not affect the reservations,” he said.

Manguart Sánchez commented that the damage registered to the hotel industry was minimal, such as some water leaks and the lack of electricity for a few hours.

He indicated that no tourist was sheltered in a temporary shelter, however, the occupancy was low during the day of the impact of “Pamela”, so many chose to leave Mazatlán the day before and postpone their arrival at the hotel.

“The truth is that fortunately nothing to regret on the subject of some person; in terms of materials it was minimal; Yes there was an issue of lack of electricity supply, but we had constant communication with CFE, and it was reestablished in a few hours, “he said.

The hotel leader recalled that at the beginning of the most active season for the formation of depressions, tropical storms and mainly hurricanes, in this area of ​​the Pacific, they are preparing to know how to act in the presence of a meteorological phenomenon.
