Culiacan Sinaloa.- The Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) through the University Welfare Unit (UBU) will carry out the first “Comprehensive Health Conference UAS 2021” to be held within the framework of the International Day of the Fight against Breast Cancer from October 19 to November 19 of this year.
Sofía Angulo de Madueña, director of University Welfare, specified that, for the first time, the health conference will offer, in addition to free ultrasound, mammography, and bone densitometry exams; care in social, psychological, nutritional, medical, and nursing work; as well as clinical tests, guidance for blood donation and advice on physical activity for health.
“We are working well-coordinated, with a lot of support from the rector, Dr. Jesús Madueña Molina, and from all the organizational and academic units. We have had a very good response from everyone. It is important to highlight that we have highly trained university personnel in all these areas, whom I thank for being willing to work in coordination with University Welfare ”, he said.
He indicated that all health services will be available for the entire Sinaloan society, for university teaching and administrative staff, and students of the upper and upper secondary level who require it, through previous appointments that they can schedule by contacting Facebook / UAS University Well-being or by phone call at 667 712 0469.
For his part, Dr. Alfredo Contreras Gutiérrez, director of the Center for Research and Teaching in Health Sciences (Cidocs) of the UAS, emphasized that during this first day, they will promote the permanent Blood Donation Campaign for the Hematology Unit and Blood Bank of the Hospital Civil de Culiacán, in order to build a list of permanent donors for the patients of said hospital.
The mobile unit and the seven free health care stands will be located in the Central Building of the UAS from Tuesday, October 19, the day on which the fight against breast cancer in the world is commemorated, on a schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
