Coming from a low-income neighborhood in Tláhuac, at the age of three, long before she knew she was a child prodigy, Adhara was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome. This brought her many bullying problems at school. Here we tell you her story:
Her classmates called her “weird” and even her teachers considered that she didn’t have much of a future. Her mother, Nallely Sánchez, realized that she was going through difficult times and did not want her daughter to suffer.
“At a ballot signing I saw that Adhara was playing in a little house and they locked her up. And they already started like this: ‘Weird, weird!’, And they started hitting her in the little house. So I said, I don’t want her to suffer. And she told me that she did not want to go to school, and fell into a very strong depression, “she told the media in 2019.
Her teachers said she fell asleep and didn’t feel like it, but Nallely knew that Adhara already knew algebra and was proficient on the periodic table. She decided to take her to therapy and, sometime later, the psychiatrist recommended that they go to the Center for Attention to Talent (CEDAT)
From being the “weird girl” to genius kid’s school
In this institute, the experts confirmed that she was a gifted girl. He earned 162 from IQ. In these classrooms, students are taught by their abilities and not by their age.

Adhara’s intelligence and research on time and space and her brilliant performance in the classrooms earned her the invitation to Russia, said Nallely Sánchez, the little girl’s mother.
“The most difficult thing was breaking the stereotype that children with autism cannot and are incapable of achieving things,” said Sánchez.
Last week she was a guest at a conference with young Mexicans studying at Oxford and they opened the doors for her to study for a doctorate in astrophysics in the future.
Sánchez said that her daughter is calm and at the same time very excited to be able to meet more genius children from other parts of the world like her.
«In whatever condition our children have, or do not have, parents always support their children in their dreams, because dreams always come true. With constancy, 50% children and 50% parents, can achieve it, ”said Sánchez.
