Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- For various reasons such as the low season in tourism or the Covid-19 pandemic, ticket sales have not increased, except for the islanders who daily use water transport to arrive in Mazatlán.

The woman in charge of controlling and receiving tickets for people who purchase a trip to Isla de la Piedra said that every day she sees only the islanders passing by, except for some national tourists, however not a single cruise passenger has passed by the wooden pier.

“No mija, no, just locals, those who live there on the island or those who go there move (…) You hear that cruise ships are going but they haven’t come here, just a little local tourist, but a little bit, everyone is alone the days, as you see right now, that’s how it is in the week, ”he lamented.

In the same way, although the person dedicated to the box office is not the same every day, he acknowledged that even if he changes shifts for two days, the influx is still low, excusing the low tourist season as a primary reason.

“In fact right now there is not so much movement, it is very calm, I do not know later how it gets, but definitely if there are fewer people, let it be for the season, because those who vacation already at this time come when they already it begins to trust elsewhere, “he said.
