Mazatlan, Sinaloa. Adrés Siddharta Indú Pérez, head of health jurisdiction no. 5, shared that, to date, there are 10 confirmed cases of dengue in the jurisdiction 5; between Elota, Mazatlán, San Ignacio and Concordia, highlighting that five brigades are working to prevent this disease.

In addition, he announced that they are currently working in the colonies of the center of Mazatlán such as Lázaro Cárdenas, Doña Chonita, Rinconada del Valle and Miguel Hidalgo, with a total of five brigades, made up of 30 elements that visit the houses, doing work of promotion, elimination of hatcheries, application of larvicides and discharging in conjunction with the municipalities.

Siddharta commented that due to the rains, an increase in cases is expected, but not a significant amount since they have worked very well so far this year.

“The results are being reflected in that we have only 10 cases so far throughout the year”

He emphasized that they are fully prepared since they have the supplies, enough personnel, vehicles and machines to carry out the actions.

He reiterated to the population that they must follow the indications to avoid this disease, which are: not having containers or water reservoirs uncovered in patios, keeping patios and common areas of the house free of weeds and the application of larvicides in water tanks or containers.

He added that it is important not to self-medicate and go to a consultation for a proper diagnosis since not everything is covid.

“Not everything is COVID, there is also dengue and there are other diseases. That they go to the doctor for any problem of respiratory symptoms, headache or fever that they go to the doctor and that they do not self-medicate ”, he concluded.
