The El Quelite bridge, located at kilometer 32 of the Mexico 15 International Highway to the north, collapsed on Monday due to the rains that were brought by Hurricane Nora, the National Guard reported.

The Coordination of the Sinaloa Highway and Facilities Safety Battalion, Mazatlán Station, said that in light of this fact, circulation in both directions on the highway and on the free highway had already been restricted.

“The closure is caused by the damage to the rolling surface in different kilometers due to the rain, caused by the passage of Hurricane Nora (today a tropical storm), which prevails over all the sections of our jurisdiction, waiting for it to decrease water level and the pertinent assessments are carried out by authorized personnel, ”said the Chief Inspector of the National Guard Karlo Castillo Gracia, head of the Mazatlán Station, in the bulletin.

This morning the road blockade continues in both directions.

It was reported that in the area of Costa Rica the growing of streams and canals was also reported.

The National Guard reported in a statement that due to the collapse, vehicular circulation in both directions of the highway, but also of the free highway, was restricted.

“It was caused by damage to the running surface at different kilometers due to the rains, caused by Nora. The water is expected to drop in level to make pertinent assessments ”.

Previously they closed the roads to the capital of Sinaloa, due to the flood in the Arroyo Otates. Until this Monday the roadblock remained in both directions.

At the moment authorities do not report damage to people or vehicles. Relief corporations are on the lookout for emergencies.
