This would be the second year that this great event will not take place due to the pandemic

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Once again and due to health protocols, the 2021 edition of the Great Pacific Marathon will not take place, due to the high rates of contagion that exist in the region and due to the same recommendation from the organizers.

Although this athletic party takes place at the end of November and the beginning of December, the athletes and organizers decided better not to expose themselves and safeguard the health of the staff, competitors and the media and better wait for 2022 .

“ With sadness, we inform you that the 2021 edition will not take place, this after consultation with various sports and health authorities. We are undoubtedly grateful for the loyalty of all the people involved in our event, which is why we assure you a great return, once none of those involved are at risk of contagion ”, says the Marathon statement

The 2020 edition was also canceled, for the same reasons, which would already be two years without being able to develop the classic marathon, which brings together about 20 thousand athletes and the number has been increasing.

For at least for the second consecutive year, the economic spill left by this event will once again be harmed and merchants, such as hoteliers, will have to wait until next year, waiting for conditions to improve to hold the event.
