In July, 47 bathers were rescued from drowning in various areas of the bay

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The month of July has been very busy for the elements of the Aquatic Rescue Squad; As of July 26, according to reports issued by the Ministry of Public Security and Municipal Traffic, 47 bathers have been rescued from drowning at sea.

Before July 10, only 10 cases were registered; When the summer vacation period began formally and the influx of bathers increased, the attention skyrocketed.

The average, according to statistics, throws almost two rescues a day, all to tourists, of which 13 have been minors.

Cerritos Beach, in its sections 1, 2, 3, and 4; Sábalo 1 and 2 and Playa Brujas have been the areas where the rescue operations were mostly carried out, in addition, one on Avenida Del Mar and another on Isla de la Piedra.

The day with the greatest action was Friday, July 16, when nine people were rescued, while the number one reason for the rescue acts was that bathers were swept away by ocean currents.

When the yellow flag is placed on the beaches it means that they can be entered to bathe but with caution, while the red flag is placed in risk areas such as rocky areas or with very high tides.

They are also recommended not to enter into a drunken state and with clothes that are not suitable for the occasion such as jeans.
