The “Chemist” Benítez Torres will monitor that the sanitary protocols are complied with in the city

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Mazatlán registers a drop in the influx of visitors as a result of the third wave of the pandemic, acknowledged Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.

He commented that he understands that there is a drop in the presence of tourism, but he will not remove his finger from the line in the promotion of the city, adhering to health protocols, because Mazatlán is a safe destination to vacation as long as visitors respect the precautionary measures.

“This week we already noticed that the influx of tourism decreased a little, it is a consequence of the pandemic and we understand it, but we are not going to take our finger off the line. I could not specify a figure, but for the weekend I will have numbers of how much it decreased, but there is still a lot of tourism, “he said.

Benítez Torres asserted that he would personally supervise the work and actions that the City Council’s work team takes care of, regarding health actions, but each citizen must be responsible for helping to resolve the issue of the pandemic that is going to happen.

He added that the supervision will consist of observing if people use face masks in restaurants, hotels, bars, or in tourist places since young people do not follow the recommendations and are the ones who are dying from the disease.
