Mazatlan approves project that mitigates flooding in El Toreo subdivision

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The head of the municipal directorate of Welfare and Social Development, Tonatiuh Guerra Martínez, confirmed that the project that will seek to mitigate flooding in the El Toreo subdivision, in Mazatlán, has already been approved, therefore which could begin as soon as the agreement with the State Government is consolidated.

Waiting to be analyzed by one of the two hydrologists that the municipality has, Guerra Martínez declared that this project will reduce the level of floods since it is impossible to avoid them because several bodies of water converge in that area.

“In the toreo project we have obtained the approval document, why is a project being occupied? Because it is a very complex work, it is not like paving,” he said.

Guerra Martínez said that although it is estimated that the executive project has a value of one million 250 thousand pesos and the complex work about 50 million pesos, they will have to wait for the hydrologist to deliver the project and in this way, a more specific budget can be managed.
