Mazatlán, Sinaloa. – Due to the dissonance between the fetid odors of a sewage treatment plant and the Mazatlán Lighthouse, according to Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, mayor of the port, in fifteen days the bad smells will end.

Benítez Torres affirmed that the northwestern treatment plant will be modernized, at the same time that the plant located on the slopes of Cerro del Crestón is being dismantled, due to the fact that there have been many complaints from citizens and tourists due to the bad smell it gives off.

“We are going to modernize the northwestern plant, because in fifteen days at the latest we will begin to dismantle the Cerro del Crestón plant; the bad odors in that area end forever and it becomes a beautiful tourist place,” he reported.

“It is a fact, we are starting to dismantle now, we have the resources to do so and at the same time we are growing the Northeast to make it also one of the most modern in Mexico,” he added by way of conclusion.
