They reach up to 75 percent the occupancy of the hotels during the weekends, and a better summer is expected

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The tourist “wave” that reaches the beaches of Mazatlán, and literally “floods” the port, is getting stronger on weekends, thanks to entire families from the Northern Corridor, as well as other areas of Sinaloa, they make their reservations to enjoy their days off, said Guillermo Romero Rodríguez.

The secretary-general of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism in Mazatlán, indicated that the arrival of tourists, despite the fact that the pandemic is still there, generates that there are 75 percent occupations in the hotels of Mazatlán, where all the protocols apply health and help the chain of contagion to be avoided as much as possible.

“The central and northern part of Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Guadalajara, mainly and Mexico City with the area connectivity that we have, so right now we are working a lot, especially for this coming summer season, yes it is very strong, it is very Well, May was excellent every weekend since practically all occupancy levels were 75 percent ”.

He pointed out that both restaurateurs and merchants and especially hoteliers, begin to register a respite, after a complex year with this pandemic, and the best thing is that arrivals are made for more days since the virtual classes do not generate any inconvenience so that the families are from before starting a weekend.

“It’s already weekends from Thursday, Friday, Saturday, leaving on Sunday, this has helped us a lot and the virtual classes continue to help a lot, it must be recognized that personally, it has surprised me that we are seeing a lot of tourism in Mazatlán, yesterday I had to circulate, and a lot of traffic, so summer is good, it is very strong and a lot of families has come.

The summer, Romero Rodríguez noted, is marked as a better period for the entire tourism chain in Mazatlán, so they are prepared to face this ‘tidal wave of profits’, without neglecting the sanitary filters and measures that help to counteract the spread of the virus and do not affect the economic activity of the port again.
