Jumapam program to give corrective maintenance to a damaged suction screen, the lack of water supply is estimated to last 12 hours

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- In an emergent but scheduled manner, Jumapam will stop the production of the Los Horcones water treatment plant early this Wednesday, to carry out corrective maintenance work on the plant’s suction screen, which will impact the water supply for the entire city for an approximate period of 12 hours.

According to the programming of Operations Management, the water treatment plant will stop its production from 6:00 to 10:00 in the morning of this Wednesday, to make the repair; However, those 4 hours will impact the availability of the vital liquid, said Arturo Valverde Hidalgo.

“It is necessary to prevent itself because the cost is going to be lowered and it is going to affect all the tanks of the city; It is mainly going to be the downtown area, more than anything it is going to be because of the companies, Pimsa ”.

The general manager of Jumapam, Luis Gerardo Núñez Gutiérrez, estimated that the supply will be restored around 6:00 in the afternoon, because the Los Horcones Water Treatment Plant is 18 kilometers away from the city and that when production stops, it takes several hours to fill the storage tanks and the distribution network.

It should be noted that the suction screen shows normal deterioration due to the permanent use of the equipment, so corrective maintenance is being carried out.
