April was the month with the most traffic accidents; 15 dead so far this year in Mazatlan

They call for the application of the three pillars of road safety education: Traffic, police surveillance, and awareness of its importance.

Today was the 6th United Nations World Road Safety Week. This on the occasion of the National Day of Public Health because “traffic accidents are also a health problem, as they put it at risk,” said Heriberto Hernández Cabada, coordinator of road safety education.

For his part, Roberto Jaime Rodríguez, road instructor, announced that there are 10 deaths of motorcyclists so far this year. He commented that “the motorcyclist is the most reckless we have here in Mazatlán,” he said.

On the other hand, the other deaths are made up of four by being run over and one in a car; April being the most violent month.


It was also reported that weekends are when this problem occurs the most. The Traffic Agent, Jesús Estrada Díaz reported that there are between 10 and 12 accidents per week.
