Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- This Friday will be the first and last debate between candidates for the Mazatlan mayoralty, after having snubbed, all together, the proposal for a similar meeting by Coparmex, last Tuesday, December 12. May.

Said meeting between applicants from the different parties will be organized and moderated by the State Electoral Institute and it is expected to be virtual, to comply with the prevention protocols against Covid-19.

According to the schedule on the IEES website, the debate will start at 10:00 am Friday may 21st, and will be moderated by staff from the same institute.

In Mazatlán it will be interesting to know the proposals of the candidates; especially those of the mayor with a license and who is going for re-election, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, who in his two years and a fraction as municipal president, managed to position Mazatlán in privileged places internationally as one of the best tourist destinations.

On May 17, the candidate for mayor of Mazatlán for the Green Ecological Party of Mexico, José Antonio López Farías, declined his candidacy to join the Benítez Torres project.

Likewise, it was reported that his counterpart, from the Progressive Social Networks party, Margarita Domínguez, died.
