Norwegian Sun Docked in Mazatlán

The arrival of the tourist ship at the dock of the Comprehensive Port Administration of Mazatlán, caused surprise among Mazatlecos, mainly from the service providers linked to this activity.

Norwegian Sun, an isolated cruise ship, arrived yesterday at the Mazatlán fiscal dock and it was thought that it was bringing tourists, but the airport authorities confirmed that it arrived for maintenance and that it will be a period of one month to six months. And it is that here, the maintenance is cheaper than in the American Union.

On the other hand, authorities of the State Secretariat of Tourism have estimated that the return of the cruise ships could be in October for Mazatlán and the entire Mexican Pacific, once the effects of the pandemic have been subsiding in countries such as the United States, Mexico and some in Latin America where these great pleasure and pleasure vessels make a stop.

Before the global Covid 19 crisis, from 80 to 120 cruise ships arrived in Mazatlán per year; there were occasions that up to three ships docked per day in our docks with a great economic benefit.

Our port and city is in the mood and national and international taste as a tourist destination, but the security protocols, especially health, are very demanding at the international level. We hope that towards the end of the year, the recovery of this tourism will begin.

Through its website, the shipping company announces the return of the first available cruises and offers trips to the Caribbean and Europe for this summer and fall.

They highlight that they have been working non-stop to improve the robust Sail Safe health and safety program, which includes mandatory vaccination requirements for all guests and crew on all cruises through October 31, 2021, to ensure that both you and your loved ones can travel safely.
