Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The State Vaccination Command in Sinaloa received on Monday the amount of 168,900 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, which will be distributed in the state capital, as well as in the municipalities of Mazatlán and Escuinapa, continuing with the vaccination process for older adults.

The Secretary of Health, Efrén Encinas Torres, affirmed that the vaccination in Culiacán begins on Tuesday and reiterates to the public that the established process will be followed where all people will be vaccinated, for which he makes a call to avoid unnecessary crowds.

“Receiving another consignment of almost 169 thousand of the Astra Zeneca vaccine for older adults, about 116 thousand doses will stay in Culiacán and the rest to complete schedules for older adults in urban areas also in Mazatlán and Escuinapa, Culiacán will start tomorrow As previously announced at the different vaccination points following the methodology of the Federal Government, everyone will be vaccinated as the organization permeates, we ask you to be attentive, we will avoid unnecessary crowds so that everything runs in the best way, with it Sinaloa is practically already covering the 18 municipalities of our state in the area of ​​older adults and health personnel, we are all going against COVID, let’s continue taking care of ourselves, ”he said.

Likewise, Dr. Encinas Torres stressed that the protection measures should not be replaced, on the contrary, reinforce them more, all together we will succeed.

The vaccines will be distributed as follows: 115 thousand 700 doses will be for the municipality of Culiacán, 46 thousand 400 for Mazatlán, and 6 thousand 800 for Escuinapa; the reception of the vaccines was carried out at the Family Medicine Unit No. 35 of the IMSS in Culiacán in the presence of the members of the State Vaccination Command headed by the IMSS Delegate in Sinaloa, Luis Rafael López Ocaña, José Jaime Montes Salas Delegate of Federal Programs and Dr. Gerardo Alapizco, Secretary-General of the UAS as well as General Vinicio Perea as representative of the armed forces.

With this, all of Sinaloa would be covered in terms of vaccination of older adults against COVID-19, according to health authorities.
