Hundreds of women marched for gender equality, raised their voices against violence and demanded justice for femicides and missing persons
Mazatlán, Sin.- From the Monument to the Deer to the Monument to Lola Beltrán, just over three kilometers, hundreds of feminists marched on Monday afternoon in commemoration of International Women’s Day.
Making the fight for gender equality visible, raising the voice against violence, and demanding justice for femicides and missing persons, was the objective of this march, which was attended by feminist groups, trackers, relatives of victims, and sympathizers of the cause.
Housewives, professionals, businesswomen, students, public officials, mothers, sisters, daughters, Mazatlecas in general, united in one voice to demand justice.
With songs, banners and insignia, they questioned the authorities about their inability to act in situations in which women have been vulnerable.
The police don’t take care of me, my friends take care of me.

Later, some volunteers presented their testimonies of rape, corruption, impunity, how their own stories were made by feminists and then ended the day. “They will not silence us again,” they promised.
That late night the Malecón de Mazatlán was painted purple, the color of feminism, the color that symbolizes gender equality.
