The importance of sustainable energies, especially in Mexican companies, has made more and more companies join that adopt this new way of coexistence with the Environment. One such company, for example, is Grupo Bimbo, which is carrying out a project with electric vehicles, which have been designed by Mexican engineers. The objective is to help in the distribution strategy in a sustainable, productive way and without leaving a mark on the environment.

Grupo Bimbo develops its own fleet of electric delivery vehicles

It is committed to the hybridization and electro-mobility of its vehicles in Mexico in collaboration with Moldex.

The subject of electro mobility is not only focused on private users, so this time we will talk about a company with worldwide recognition that has begun to make a leap towards low-emission mobility.

After 75 years in the market, Grupo Bimbo wants to be a company with a strong commitment to social responsibility and decides that it is time to start replacing a large part of its units that run on combustion engines with hybrid and electric vehicles.

To begin with, there will be a total of 41 hybrid cars that will be integrated into the fleet to be used by its team of supervisors, the Toyota Prius C being the model chosen to fulfill this task.

On the other hand, 100 new Vekstar brand electric delivery vehicles will be incorporated , which were manufactured in collaboration with the company  Moldex, in charge of the technological development of Grupo Bimbo. This 100% Mexican company worked in collaboration with Bimbo for the manufacture and assembly of the same, with the support of engineers of national origin.

These 100 models are added to the 400 that the company already had in previous years, so there will be a total of 500 units that will distribute the products of the entire group throughout the republic.

In addition to this goal achieved, it is forecast that by 2024 4,000 extra delivery vehicles can be aligned to continue contributing to the reduction of emissions in our country.

Let us remember that Grupo Bimbo currently operates in 33 countries around the world, where Mexico will play an important role in starting to replicate the same strategy in the countries where the company has a presence.
