Michoacán has had a re-outbreak of Covid-19, for this reason, Governor Silvano Aureoles Conejo has prohibited all kinds of gatherings until January 2, 2021.
Morelia, Michoacán (December 27, 2020). – The state of Michoacán as of today, has registered a total of 32,289 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 2,608 deaths according to the daily technical report released last night by the State Secretariat of Health, to which the last 132 infections of coronavirus and 3 deaths registered in the state, this last figure being the highest level that the state has had in the 10 months of the pandemic.
The governor of Michoacán, Silvano Aureoles Conejo, has highlighted that the next four weeks are of a high risk of contagion, which is why he reminded the population to take care of their health. “The months of December and January are high risk due to all the activities that we know, everyone waits these months to meet their family and friends; however, we must recognize that the effort made by the health sector to serve Michoacanos is enormous and it is up to us to protect ourselves, ” the governor said.
In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, since last Monday, December 7, and until January 2, 2021, in Michoacán, all kinds of Christmas holidays, commemoration, or New Year’s celebration have been prohibited because it is one of the 20 states that have had a resurgence of the coronavirus pandemic.
The announcement was issued by governor Silvano Aureoles through a video that he published on his social networks in which he asks society in general to only commemorate these dates with the people who live at home. Likewise, he specified 7 preventive measures to take to avoid being infected with Covid-19 during the December and year-end celebrations.
- Celebrate New Years only with the people who live at home, without other guests
- Suspend all mass meetings because they are prohibited
- Avoid shopping in places with a large influx of people
- Do not make or attend pilgrimages
- You cannot organize posadas, fairs or popular festivals
- Let’s avoid holding meetings where there are older adults or vulnerable people.
- Use the mask whenever you are away from home or are in contact with other people
Likewise, it has been recommended to program purchases in a staggered manner or take advantage of online systems to avoid saturation in public markets, shopping malls or establishments in general, where there is a risk of contracting the disease.
