Mazatlan city council approves extensions of alcohol sales and consumption

In the 52nd Cabildo Session, 12 pensions and retirements were also approved, as well as the promotion of the Social Comptroller committees

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The extension of hours for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages from two hours and up to three hours to establishments located in the tourist area and Historic Center of the port, during the months of January, February, and March 2021, was approved this Tuesday by the councilors during the ordinary session.

The Tourism and Commerce Commission presented the proposal that was unanimously endorsed by 13 of the 14 members of the building body present, highlighted the councilor of the PRI Isabel Gamboa.

“Tourist area, restaurants in all modalities from 23:00 to two hours daily, nightclub from two to four hours daily, bar from 23:00 to two hours daily, supermarkets from 20:00 to 23:00 Monday to Saturday, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sundays, secondly, this extension will be effective during the months of January, February and March ”.

Twelve retirement and pension rulings were also authorized, presented by the Labor and Social Welfare Commission, for the same number of City Council workers, as well as one more to make the payment of benefits for funeral expenses of a deceased employee.

The Cabildo also endorsed the strengthening of transparency, honesty, and accountability, through the Social Comptroller committees, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Directorate of Welfare and Social Development, as well as the Internal Control Body.
