For many, December is one of the most anticipated seasons of the year, in the Port of Mazatlán on the night of this Thursday, December 3, the warm Christmas spirit arrived with the inauguration as well as the Christmas lighting of the Municipal Palace and the official opening of the special decoration of the Plazuela Machado.

Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres, together with his wife, gave an emotional message, wishing the people of Mazatlan to come days full of love, peace, joy, unity, and hope.

In the Plazuela Machado the lights, the decoration, the ornaments, and the photographic cabinets were the sensation of those who were in the place, who were spectators of several artistic numbers.

Continuing with the promotion of fine arts, the Classical Ballet Company of the Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art of Mazatlán, performed three pieces that were liked by the attendees “Nanita Nana”, “Baile de las Fluutas” and “Padede of the Sugar ”.

Tenor Joaquín Sillero and Manuel Salas were accompanied by the pianist Pablo Mejia to perform Christmas songs such as “Silent Night”, “White Christmas”, “Camino de Belén” and “Feliz Navidad”, taking the applause of the audience in the icy Christmas night.

During the next few weeks, the Plazuela Machado will be decorated with huge Christmas trees, decorative figures characteristic of Christmas, as well as photographic stops so that attendees take a special souvenir of the season. It will also be illuminated by thousands of lights which in some areas will perform an interactive show.

In the Plazuela República, the cultural activity was led by professor José Ramón Gómez Polo when he told a Christmas story. The Star Jazz Academy also participated in dance pieces.
