The Municipality of Querétaro maintains its support to the population in the face of the health contingency with the shared bicycle service QroBici
The Municipality of Querétaro, through the Ministry of Mobility, maintains the free service to users of the QroBici shared bicycle system until December 31, this as an alternative mobility measure for the prevention of the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
Monserrat Brizuela Ramírez, the Head of the Mobility Relations and Culture Department of the Mobility Secretariat, reported that since the beginning of the free service on August 17, there has been a record of two thousand 50 new users, with 10 thousand 217 recorded trips.
She added that 61 percent of the users are men, while three percent of the registered users are foreigners; and regarding the age of the users, the main range is located around 24 years old. The hours of greatest use are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the station with the highest influx being Plaza de la Constitución, followed by the two stations of the Technological Institute of Querétaro.
Montserrat Brizuela reported that the stations and bicycles continue to be sanitized constantly, however, it called on users not to lower their guard and before and after using this service to use antibacterial gel, in addition to wearing their mask.
Finally, the Head of the Department of Liaison and Culture of Mobility asked users to report if the bicycles or stations are in poor condition through the Official Qrobici digital application or through the Facebook page of the Ministry of Mobility of the Municipality of Querétaro.
