With colors, they honor those who died in the pandemic in Calle del Truco Guanajuato

More than 6500 ribbons are placed in one of the most emblematic streets of Guanajuato capital

Guanajuato.- ribbons red, green and purple; colors that in different countries and cultures mean mourning or funeral. The white color symbolizes and represents all the health personnel of the state of Guanajuato who has died as a result of this pandemic.

In the iconic Calle del Truco, next to the Basilica of Guanajuato, the urban intervention of funerary slats was carried out, directed by the General Directorate of Culture and Education of Guanajuato.

Faced with the impossibility of carrying out the commemoration of the traditions to honor the dead, the municipal authorities, businessmen, and traders set up this urban memorial: 6,500 strips of colors were placed between the balconies of this street, creating a unique environment and multifaceted.

In addition to remembering one of the most deeply-rooted dates for Mexico, this performance pays tribute to all the men and women from hospitals and clinical units continue to fight relentlessly against Covid-19.

The head of the Directorate of Culture and Education, Juan Antonio Borja, explained that, given the impossibility of holding celebrations typical of these dates, this measure was chosen so that the city participates in these acts and events.
