Seven rivers overflowed, one of them, the Grijalva, in the city of Villahermosa; Despite the efforts of the population to contain the flow, the capacity of the tributary collapsed and the water entered nine colonies. At least 10 people lost their lives. Communities in the municipalities of Macuspana, Tacotalpa or Teapa were submerged under water.

Cold Front Number 9 -at the end of October-, tropical storm Eta and Cold Front 12 -last weekend- were the meteorological phenomena that caused this situation. The severe and incessant rains did not give Tabasco time to recover. And although these days the weather gave its inhabitants a break, a new frontal system is approaching the entity, and it will return to leave heavy rains for four days.

This was reported by the National Meteorological Service (SMN) in a special notice. The agency warned that on Sunday, November 15, a cold front will enter the north of Mexico that will advance towards the southeast of the Republic. At the same time, a trough line will be developed over the Gulf of Mexico that will increase the potential for rainfall in Tabasco, Chiapas, Veracruz and the Yucatan Peninsula.

It is expected that these events will leave between Sunday 15 and Wednesday 18 an accumulated that could exceed 250 millimeters in some parts of Tabasco, especially in the southern area. However, in a large part of the entity, these records are expected to total, in that four-day period, between 75 and 150 millimeters.

This is the day-to-day weather forecast, according to information issued by the climate agency of the National Water Commission (Conagua).
