Special cocktails to celebrate Day of the Dead

We give you cocktail options for you to celebrate this Day of the Dead with liquid offerings made with mezcal, tequila and gin.

The Day of the Dead is one of the most special celebrations for Mexicans and was declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 2003. This celebration generally takes place on November 1 and 2 in Mexican indigenous communities, although in reality it is spread throughout the country.

To celebrate, we bring some cocktails that will make this Day of the Dead celebration not go unnoticed.

Mystical cocktails for Day of the Dead

Spicy potion

Ingredients :

  • 3.5 tablespoons of Mezcal Bruxo Initial Recipe
  • 5 watermelon cubes
  • 2 slices of serrano pepper
  • 1 cup of cranberry juice
  • 2 tablespoons grapefruit juice
  • 1 tablespoon ancho chili syrup
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • Dried flowers to decorate

Procedure :

Add the watermelon and the serrano pepper in a shaker. Macerate and then add the rest of the ingredients. Add ice and shake until the glass is sweaty. Serve in a double-strained glass and garnish with some dried flowers.

Agave Elixir

Ingredients :

  • 4 tablespoons of Mayorazgo Cristalino tequila
  • 4 tablespoons of raspberry vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 4 tablespoons of Elixir de Luna de Quinto herbal tea

Procedure :

Place a tablespoon of Elixir de Luna tisane in a container with hot water at a temperature of 100 ° C and let it rest for 7 minutes. In a mug, pour the Mayorazgo Cristalino tequila, the raspberry vinegar, the honey and add. Finally, serve a  top  of tisane in the cup.

Cempasúchil

Ingredients : 

  • 3 tablespoons of Mezcal Miter Origin 
  • 2 tablespoons tangerine juice
  • 4 teaspoons of cempasuchil flower syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 Dash of Bitter Wild Cempasuchil Flower
  • Cempasuchil petals

Process:

Mix all the ingredients in a shaker, add cubed ice to cool the drink and shake. Serve in a martini glass and decorate with marigold petals. Is there a more representative flower for the Day of the Dead with a cocktail?

Incantation

Ingredients :

  • 2 tablespoons of Mezcal Bruxo Nº1
  • 1/2 green tomato
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons grapefruit juice
  • 5 teaspoons of natural syrup
  • Basil leaves for cocktails and to decorate
  • Cinnamon stick to decorate

Procedure :

Put all the ingredients in a shaker. Macerate the ingredients, add ice and shake until the glass is sweaty. Serve in a double strained glass with fresh ice. Garnish with a sprig of basil and burned cinnamon for aroma. You’ll want to enjoy these Day of the Dead cocktails all year long.

Mediterranean Gin & Tonic

Ingredients :

  • 4 tablespoons of Larios 12
  • 2 cups premium tonic water
  • lemon peel
  • Orange peel
  • orange blossom
  • 1 cup of ice

Procedure :

Fill a balloon glass with ice, twist a little lemon and wipe it around the rim of the glass. Stir the ice in the glass in circles to cool it and let the lemon infuse it with flavor. Serve the Larios 12 gin and add the tonic water. Finish with an orange peel and decorate with orange blossom.

  • 4 teaspoons passion fruit syrup
  • 4 teaspoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon pineapple juice
  • 4 teaspoons of Rooibos tea
  • 1/2 teaspoon activated charcoal
  • Black salt to frost

Procedure :

Mix all the ingredients in a shaker, shake and reserve. Frost an old fashioned glass, add ice and pour the contents of the shaker. This cocktail will bring you a memory of darkness.

  • 4 tablespoons of Maestro Dobel Humito
  • 4 tablespoons tomato juice
  • 1 teaspoon of Maggi Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon English Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of Tabasco Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of olive brine
  • Three olives
  • Black salt to frost

Procedure :

Mix all the ingredients in a shaker, shake and reserve. Frost an old fashioned glass, add ice and pour the contents of the shaker. Garnish with olives. Toast this Day of the Dead!

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of Mezcal Bruxo Nº2
  • 2 tablespoons of natural syrup
  • 1/2 green apple
  • 1 tablespoon chambord
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice
  • Tonic water
  • Yellow lemon and cardamom twist to decorate

Procedure :

Put all the ingredients in a shaker. Macerate the ingredients, add ice and shake until the glass is sweaty. Serve in a double strained glass with ice crush. Garnish with a lemon and cardamom twist.

Pan de Muerto

  • 4 tablespoons of Volcán Blanco tequila
  • 3 tablespoons cajeta
  • 3 teaspoons agave syrup
  • 6 tablespoons almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons of chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons of amaranth
  • Piece of pan de muerto for the garnish

Procedure :

Frost a martini glass with the help of 1 tablespoon of cajeta, chocolate, and amaranth. Mix the tequila, 2 tablespoons of cajeta, and the almond milk in a shaker, shake. Pour the contents into the glass and garnish with the Pan de Muerto.
