This new application registers in real time the active population in recreation centers in Mazatlán.

The Tourist Attention and Protection Center (Capta) launched the application for smartphones, Mztourist, which has the function of measuring the distribution of visitors to 60 beaches and nightclubs that are located in the tourist area of the port of Mazatlán, Sinaloa State.

Mztourist App provides assistance and guidance to tourists who visit the port of Mazatlán, as well as information and guidance on procedures for care and/or the resolution of emergency situations that affect the physical integrity or personal documents of tourists.

With this app, the tourists will be able to join the new normal safely, since through a beach and night traffic light, the application registers in real-time the active population on the beaches, bars, and nightclubs of the tourist area, with the purpose of avoiding crowds of more than 60 percent of capacity in each and every one of these recreation centers.

In addition, through this application, the tourist receives official notifications from the City Council in different areas, as well as the announcement of events from the Mazatlan Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art, it has a section to consult the different consulates and embassies of each country, emergency numbers, protected sites, sites of interest and safety on the beaches, as well as making a report for the attention of a complaint.

It provides tourists with a mechanism to make reports on breach of service or contract, loss of official documents, complaints and allows to receive notifications made by the Mazatlán City Council, referring to events and other news.

In addition, it allows you to receive notifications about events carried out by the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlán, referring to concerts, sports, shows, festivals, theatrical plays… people can even pay for traffic infractions through the app.

Astrid Macías, director of Capta, said that the tool will allow limiting access to places that tend to be saturated, in addition, it will strengthen health security to avoid contagion of Covid-19.

It should be remembered that the beach and nightlife traffic lights mark four different colors: green to register “free access”, yellow means “moderate access” that is, the beach has 50 percent capacity; orange represents “limited access or closing alert”, with an occupancy of 30 percent; and red symbolizes “no access”.
