La Paz, Baja California Sur. (OEM-Informex) .- Global Clean-Up Relay, is an international massive cleaning brigade, the objective of this initiative is to join forces and carry out a massive and simultaneous cleaning crew worldwide, Baja California Sur continues to join efforts to combat the plastic contamination in our State and raise awareness of the importance of caring for and eliminating pollution, this year’s headquarters will be in La Paz, Baja California Sur.
“This campaign was created in 2018 and implemented for the first time in 2019, this global initiative is made every change of season, spring, summer, autumn, and winter, it is carried out in more than twenty-five countries and in more than twenty states of the Mexican Republic” commented Daniel Santacruz, who is the State Coordinator of the Global Clean-Up Relay in Baja California Sur.
This year’s Global, which was planned for the month of March at La Paz Baja California Sur headquarters and having as a guest Martin Henderson, an international actor who was in the city of La Paz, had to be postponed due to the global health contingency.
“It is an initiative that takes place around the world, we had to postpone it due to the pandemic and we think it can be done by the end of November, we already have a rapprochement with the actor Martin Henderson who is our ambassador and is already in all willingness to work with us”, Santacruz said.
Throughout 2019, the city of La Paz, with the help of different voluntary associations, managed to collect tons of garbage before it could reach the sea, then, it was possible to obtain recognitions through different associations in Mexico City for being the place in the world that was able to collect greatest amount of garbage.
“We already had a previous meeting, regarding the Global Clean-Up Replay, in the project people from Holland, Canada, the United States, Mexico, and other countries participated”.
Daniel Santacruz, thanked the group of volunteers who always join these causes in favor of the environment, always having the disposition to keep all corners of the state clean, thanks to those who have the disposition to collect garbage in streams and beaches, Baja California Sur can be one of the cleanest states, it is important that the citizens, in general, contribute by not leaving garbage in places of recreation, creating awareness and being responsible citizens.
