3 dead bodies found burned inside a vehicle in Mapastepec, Chiapas

San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas. On Monday, October 5th, the bodies of three men were found burned inside a vehicle, in the municipality of Mapastepec, located on the coast of the entity, reported the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

Mapastepec, Chiapas is located 273 kilometers (145 miles) south of the state capital Tuxtla Gutierrez (INEGI)

In a statement, he said that “after learning the criminal news about the presence of three cremated bodies inside an incinerated vehicle, a specialized group of experts, agents of the Public Ministry and police arrived at the scene to initiate the investigation procedures aimed at clarifying the facts and determine responsibilities ”.  

“Officers of Expert Services carried out the lifting of various indications for the integration of the investigation file for the crime of homicide and transferred the bodies to the Forensic Medical Service to continue with the proceedings and the full identification of the remains,” he added.

The agency pointed out that until Tuesday, October 6th, the identity of the three men is still unknown, at the time of endorsing their “serious commitment to the people of Chiapas to guarantee the rule of law and peace in the state, reiterating that no antisocial behavior will go unpunished.”
