Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Within the new normality, the shows of the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Arts of Mazatlán have had to adapt to avoid the risks of contagion by coronavirus due to the congregation of people, for which it was determined that the celebration of the Day of the Dead is virtually.

José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, director of Culture, mentioned that as well as other festivities such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, LGBT + pride and grandparents, the Day of the Dead will be held with artists from the Centro Municipal de las Artes in the interior of the Angela Peralta Theater, with the transmission of musical and theatrical numbers via Facebook, without an audience.

“We are not going to be able to carry out the traditional callejoneada that we do the day, the day and the place will not go unnoticed because we are going to do it virtually, behind closed doors the theater to avoid any problems.”

Therefore, the already traditional alley through the Historic Center of Mazatlán will be canceled, in order to avoid the congregation of people, even though the event has become an important reference for the port due to the tradition that represents the day of the faithful deceased for Mexico and where in addition to the tour of the area, a show was offered inside the Angela Peralta Theater with students of the different arts.

Tostado Quevedo indicated that probably next October the theater will open to shows with thirty percent of the public, complying with the guidelines and recommendations of both the health authorities and the city council, with several proposals to bring works, although they have been limited to close negotiations with the producers of the staging.
