This Saturday, it transpired the arrest by the FGE of the former head of Notary 24. The arrest occurred in a Guadalajara Pharmacy located in Colonia Jardines de Querétaro.
The information was confirmed via tweet by the State Prosecutor’s Office.
As revealed by PLAZA DE ARMAS, at the beginning of July of this year the Notary 24 of the state of Querétaro was intervened, whose owner, Fernando Lugo, was accused of alleged fraudulent acts by about 90 people, who said they were fed up with the pretexts for not give them deeds that they had already paid for.
For this reason, the Secretary of Government decided to withdraw the patent that the detainee held for decades.
Interviewed by local media, the Secretary of Government, Juan Martín Granados, confirmed the intervention of the notary’s office:
“The most important procedure is when a citizen complains about the actions of a notary, it is the particular case of the notary’s office (24) that we are talking about, one of the notaries (Fernando Lugo), exclusively, where until today We have processed 90 complaints, of which several have already been resolved with the maximum penalty for a notary, which is the withdrawal of the patent by the Executive ”, he said.
A few days ago, videos of citizens who broke into said notary’s office and confronted Fernando N. also circulated a group of citizens demonstrated in the Plaza de Armas, in front of the Government Palace, demanding the intervention of the authority in this case.
PLAZA DE ARMAS revealed on July 8 that according to complaints filed with the State Attorney General’s Office, of which El Periódico de Querétaro has a copy, the notary public would have failed to comply with the processing of hundreds of deeds, affecting individuals, public agencies and to the treasury.
The case includes, according to sources close to the legal action, hundreds of unprocessed deeds, which become a multimillion-dollar grievance against agencies, banks, and individuals.
Some of the complaints date back three years, as in the case of a parking lot in the Historic Center whose registration was not made before the Public Property Registry despite having collected the rights with transfers, as was fully documented.
Once the alleged generic fraud committed by the notario was proven, the Specialized Unit for Investigating Patrimonial Crimes decided to proceed against Notary 24.
On July 7, personnel from the State Secretary of Government went to the offices located in the Diligences Division to notify the suspension of activities.
It should be noted that the accused, Fernando Lugo, who enjoys numerous social, professional, and political relationships, has been president of the Council of Notaries and of the Board of the Autonomous University of Querétaro.
