On September 3rd, a group of feminists held the facilities of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) of Mexico, in the center of this capital, as a measure of pressure to make the authorities attend to the cases of relatives of victims of violence.
The headquarters of the CNDH was taken on Thursday by the victims’ families, but on Friday a score of feminists arrived at the place to make the demands of their own and they stationed themselves in the place where they said they would remain “indefinitely”.
On Saturday both the feminists and the mothers of victims who occupied the facilities threw documents and furniture into the street that they later burned, in addition to displaying food they found in the building, mainly cuts of meat, something they said is contradictory since the CNDH He has told them that he does not have the resources to support them.
Marcela Alemán, mother of a girl sexually assaulted in 2017 in SanLuis Potosí, and Silvia Castillo, mother of a young man murdered in the same state in 2019, abandoned the protest as they told the media that the CNDH would have to respond to their requests.
On Wednesday, after a meeting with the Commission authorities, Alemán protested the little progress in her case and tied herself to a chair to demand justice and put pressure on the CNDH and the authorities.
