Mazatlán still on “red traffic light” due to Covid-19

There was a slight drop in the number of new infections and deaths, but not enough to move to another color “yellow” in the epidemiological reference “trafic light”.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- During the weekend, Mazatlán had a slight drop in new infections of Covid-19, active and dead patients, but even so it remains at a red light.

According to the report of the Secretary of Health in the entity, Efrén Encinas Torres, on Sunday, September 6, five new cases of the virus emerged. There are 140 active patients and 175 suspects.

423 people have died from coronavirus in the municipality of Mazatlán, in ages ranging from 40 to 84 years.

Likewise, 2,441 people have been recovered and most received care at home.

Of the active patients, 35.4 percent are hospitalized and the health of 7.2 percent of them is considered “delicate”.

Since the first case of Covid-19 was registered in the entity, 192 days have elapsed. Mazatlán and Culiacán are the municipalities that remain on a red light.

Doctors, nurses, laboratory personnel, x-rays, social work, kitchen, administration, janitors, and security staff are at high-risk of conagion, and they expect the number of infections to decrease in the municipality soon.
