Taxco Film Fest 2021

The Taxco Film Fest reaches its sixth edition, the organization has announced via social networks the call for 2021.
The VI Edition of Taxco Film Fest 2021 , will be held from February 12 to 20, 2021, in the City of Light and Magic Town of Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero.
The fifth edition was held from February 20 to 23, 2020, before the declaration of a national health emergency. In that edition the winners were: ” La Rueda de Piedra “, in Best Documentary Short Film; ” Anacronte “, in Best animated short film;
and ” Smile “, in Best fiction short film. In addition, the Silver Ring was awarded to the Acapulco actress Gabriela Cartol .
The Festival announces the Competition Categories that will be in competition:
- Fiction short film.
- Experimental Short Film.
- Animation Short Film.
- Documentary Short Film.

Call 2021
This edition will have in competition only Short Films with a maximum duration of 30 min, including credits in film, video or digital format, whose production is after January 1, 2019.
The movie in HD (1920 x 1080), .MOV (Apple prores), .mp4 (MPEG-4) file.
H.264 codec for video.
The film must not contain subtitles in another language, unless the film contains subtitles in Spanish, because it is spoken in another language.
Display
The Festival Management will agree on the order and the date of exhibition of each work. The registered works may be selected for samples out of competition.
Terms
A. Entries must be accompanied by digital viewing copies (screeners).
B. The registration for works coming from Mexico and other countries will cost $ 10.00 US dollars (ten US dollars), which will be deposited through the FestHome and FilmFreeWay registration platforms .
C. There is no registration limit for the number of films per director or production entity.
D. Video clips, commercial works or for political and / or religious propaganda purposes are not accepted.
E. In order to be admitted, the materials must be presented in Spanish. If the language of execution is different from Spanish, it must be sent with subtitles in English or Spanish, as appropriate.
6.- Selection and Jury . The selection of the works will be the responsibility of the Festival Organization by means of a jury made up of professionals from the cinematographic medium, whose names will be announced in due course. Its ruling will be final.
7.- Awards .
The Taxco Film Fest 2021 will deliver a Participation Diploma to all those selected in the competitive section, and for the winners the “Silver Ring” will be awarded, an artistic piece made by master goldsmiths from Taxco, the world capital of silver art.
8.- The deadline for registration and submission of materials is December 23, 2020 .
9.- Any shipping cost of the works participating in the competitive section, from their origin to the address of this organization, will be borne by the participants. The Festival will not bear the costs derived from sending other advertising materials, etc.
10.- Once sent to the call, the film cannot be withdrawn.
11.- In no case will the exhibition rights of a work be paid.
12.- The selected films are eligible to be part of the itinerant samples of the festival after the framework of the festival.
