Mazatlán, Sinaloa .- The Movimiento Amplio Social Sinaloense (Mass) together with families from different colonies and invasions demonstrated peacefully in front of the Mazatlán town hall.
Colonies such as Flores Magón, Santa Teresa, Invasión Bugambilias, were the neighbors who were struggling to obtain a surface to live on.
The leader of the Mass Miguel Angel Gutiérrez pointed out that there are more than 500 families who are looking for a piece of land so as not to continue to be squatters or invading other people’s land.
Representing all the families, only about 50 people attended to express their despair. Citizens no longer want to continue with the uncertainty of not having a home.
Gutiérrez stressed that the municipal authorities have favored only tourism, but there are vulnerable sectors that need a space to protect their families.
The coordinator of the Sinaloense Broad Social Movement (Mass), Lorena García, said that the complainants are of scarce resources and require the support of the authorities.
A delegation of 10 people entered the municipal presidency to talk with the secretary of the city council, José de Jesús Flores Segura.
The city council secretary explained that the Líderes en Movimiento neighborhood, September 13 and El Castillo , are located, with possible land available for families.
At the meeting, Flores Segura promised that a response will be given within 48 hours.
Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez assured that they will wait the time that the official indicated but in case of no response they will continue with the demonstrations.
