More than 400 homes flooded in Guerrero due to heavy rains

The rains registered in the last three days in the Mexican state of Guerrero have left 424 houses flooded , four bridges collapsed and 11 rivers overflowing.

According to the last report issued by the Civil Protection Secretariat of the state government, three temporary shelters were set up to serve 72 affected people in the municipalities of Zihuatanejo, San Jerónimo and Petatlán.

There was also damage to the structures of 13 homes: eight in Atoyac, one in Malinaltepec , two in Tlacoapa and one in Atoyac de Álvarez.


Similarly, there are 424 flooded houses : one hundred in Tecpan de Galeana, ten in Atoyac, one hundred in Coyuca de Benítez, two in Ometepec, 15 in Azoyú, 127 in Florencio Villarreal and 70 in Cuajinicuilapa.

55 landslides have been reported on roads and 72 fallen trees in different municipalities of the state.

The report also indicates that there were seven rock slides, five highway blocks due to rock slides, 13 fallen utility poles and four collapsed bridges in Tecpan, Petatlán, Cuautepec and Azoyú.

Finally, it was reported that 11 rivers overflowed in the state of Guerrero: one in Tecpan, three in Atoyac, one in Zihuatanejo, one in San Jerónimo, two in Petatlán, one in Coyuca de Benítez, one in Coyuca de Catalán, and one more in Cuautepec.
