The National Meteorological System alerted Sinaloa Civil Protection to invite citizens to take precautions
Culiacán, Sinaloa (Informative Reaction) .- Tropical Depression “13-E” was formed to the southwest of the coast of Jalisco, reported through a State Civil Protection statement.
The coordination detailed that the center of the system is located 255 km south-southwest of Playa Pérula, Jalisco and 275 kilometers west-southwest of Manzanillo, Colima. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gusts of 75 kilometers per hour. Its displacement is towards the north-northwest at 7 kilometers per hour.
Currently it does not represent a danger of direct impact for Sinaloa, it is expected that for tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, this phenomenon will become a tropical storm, with a forecast of intense punctual rains of 75 to 150 mm, with electrical activity and gusts strong winds, causing heavy rains in our state for the rest of the week.
- Wednesday, August 26: heavy rains are forecast in Sinaloa with very strong occasional rains of 50 to 75 mm accompanied by electric shocks and strong gusts of wind.
- Thursday August 27: very heavy rains are expected with intense punctual rains of 75 to 150 mm, accompanied by electric shocks and strong gusts of wind.
- Friday, August 28: heavy rains are expected with very strong occasional rains of 50 to 75 mm, accompanied by electric shocks and strong gusts of wind.
- Saturday August 29: with heavy rains and very strong punctual rains of 50 to 75 mm, accompanied by electric shocks and strong gusts of wind.
The State Institute of Civil Protection reiterates to the general population to continue taking extreme precautions and to keep informed about the behavior of the weather and official warnings.
In case of heavy rains, the following recommendations are urged:
• Try to stay in a safe place.
• Don’t risk your life trying to cross streams.
• Avoid driving through flooded streets.
• Avoid touching poles, light boxes or cables.
• Drive slowly, with lights on, flashing lights and a seat belt.
• If you live near bodies of water, keep an eye on the level and notify 911 in case it increases its channel.
• Locate temporary shelters and shelters in your municipality.
• Avoid throwing objects in the street and taking out the garbage.
In case of electrical storms:
• Avoid high places such as hills or mountains,
• Stay away from power poles or antennas, metal fences, and metal-tipped umbrellas;
• Do not stay in large open spaces;

In strong winds:
