With the recovery of the body of a 24-year-old young man, there are four deaths during the current season of heavy rains registered in Oaxaca, reported Civil Protection

he State Coordination for Civil Protection (Cepco) confirmed the location of the lifeless body of a 24-year-old young man, reported as missing when he apparently tried to cross a mighty river in the vicinity of the municipality of San Felipe Usila, in the region of Cuenca del Papaloapan. 

The rescue was made possible by the participation of the members of the search brigade made up of the Secretary of the NavyCivil Protection personnel, municipal authorities, and elements of the state police, as well as volunteers.

With the recovery of the body near the Miguel Alemán dam, the procedure for handing it over to the next of kin began, and the operation that began on August 20, after the notice of the disappearance of Ernesto, aged 24, was concluded. home to go in search of firewood, despite warnings to stay away from currents. 

This event raised four deaths during the current season of heavy rains registered in Oaxaca, reported Civil Protection while recommending to obey the recommendations of the agency.

Also during this day, Cepco reported that some 85 homes were flooded in the community of San José Chiltepec, in the Papalopan Basin, after the torrential rains of tropical wave number 29.

As the first respondent, the municipal authority headed by Martín García Sánchez, and the Municipal Civil Protection Council carried out immediate work in support of the families who remained in their homes.

“The families decided to stay and start cleaning their houses, with the support of elements of the municipal police and members of the Civil Protection Council, an action that concluded in the early hours of this Friday,” he said. 

Civil Protection will maintain the protocols to provide care to this Cuenca municipality.
