Los Cabos leader in hotel occupancy in Mexico despite Covid-19

Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos are the tourist destinations with the highest hotel occupancy in the country , as reported by Miguel Torruco Marqués , Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico.

Through a message on social networks, the federal official indicated that during the 33rd week of the year , which runs from August 10 to 16, hotel occupancy in Puerto Vallarta was 29.3 percent , while in Los Cabos, this level was 27.4 percent. 

It should be noted that in this same period, the average occupancy of hotel rooms in 12 destinations in the country was 19.3 percent.

This level is close to 30 percent of the capacity allowed by the health authorities during the epidemiological orange traffic light, which still predominates in most of the national territory.

In the case of Puerto Vallarta, it has managed to maintain for the fifth consecutive week, this level close to the limit of 30 percent.

Meanwhile, Los Cabos, presented an increase of 2.7 percent, compared to the previous week.

These data published by the head of Sectur show a gradual improvement in hotel occupancy, compared to the months of April, May and June, a period in which most of the temporary accommodation businesses were closed, and levels were recorded. lows close to 1 percent
