As well as Sinaloa; the states of Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Jalisco are working to intensify comprehensive actions to combat these diseases.
Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The Interstate Meeting of the 2020 Vector-Borne Diseases Program took place at the headquarters of the State of Jalisco, with Dr. Perla Janeth Lizárraga Rodríguez, Deputy Director of Health Promotion as representative of Sinaloa.
This meeting was with the objective of sharing practices, experiences and agreeing strategies to carry out prevention, control and care actions to combat dengue.
Lizárraga Rodríguez, stated that the entity is committed to each of the works that allow protecting the population from the transmission of this disease.
The states of Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, Nayarit, Sinaloa and Jalisco agreed to intensify comprehensive actions to combat dengue in their neighboring areas, which include components of prevention and health promotion, medical care, epidemiological surveillance, vector control (mosquitos), laboratory surveillance and risk communication, all with the common objective of reducing the transmission of dengue infection in these territories.
Each of the states presented their epidemiological panorama and the actions taken, agreeing on the challenges posed by the fight against dengue in times of Covid-19.
The meeting included working groups for each of the components to finally present the interstate commitments and strategies to reduce the risk of dengue in the states, with emphasis on the boundaries between each one.
