At the opening of this Friday, August 14, 2020, the dollar in Mexico is priced at 22.23 Mexican pesos.
This is a rise of the Mexican peso of 0.24% against the dollar, since yesterday it registered 22.17 pesos.
On the other hand, although the dollar itself has weakened by 0.59%, its balance for the last year remains at a rise of 15.01%. Therefore, this loss of purchasing power implies a loss with respect to the previous three days, which was on the rise, and not an effect on the outlook in the long term.
What is a US dollar?
The dollar and its code is ISO 4217 in USD. After the gold standard was broken in 1971, this currency became fiat, which means that it is not backed by any type of metal, neither gold nor silver, so its value is fiat.
