“I will support Lis Guillermo Benítez Torres if he turns out to be Morena’s candidate for the governorship of Sinaloa”, said Jesús Estrada Ferreiro, municipal president of Culiacán.

The mayor of Culiacán clarified that he was not against the aspirations of his Mazatlan counterpart, who on various occasions has admitted his interest in running for governor of Sinaloa.

The municipal president of Culiacán, Jesús Estrada Ferreiro, expressed his support for the decision made within Morena regarding Benitez candidacy for Governor of Sinaloa in the next 2021 elections, and the fact that the Mayor of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, has always wanted to contend for the governorship.

Jesús Estrada Ferreiro, who, like Benitez Torres, belongs to the MORENA political party (the same party to which President Andres Manuel López Obrador belongs), has been criticized in the state capital for having reached the municipal presidency without being a well-known politician by the inhabitants of Culiacán.

Many people say that he won the election only because AMLO chose him as his party’s candidate, and that the people who voted for Lopez Obrador, voted for him even without knowing him.
