Starting August 20, operations restart on the Querétaro and Ciudad Juárez routes

Mazatlan, Sinaloa. Twenty days after the revival of the tourist sector in Mazatlán, national air connectivity is recovered, after announcing that on August 20 the airline TAR will restart operations.

The director of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies, Julio Birrueta, assured that TAR has already made official the announcement that in a month it will resume its flights on the Mazatlan-Queretaro and Mazatlan-Ciudad Juárez routes, which will undoubtedly bring great benefits.

At the national level, our prediction is that the same routes will be maintained, perhaps not the number of flights, at first, but gradually everything will recover.

Julio Birrueta

He recalled that since before July 1 some airlines restarted their routes, such as Interjet Aeroméxico, Vivaaerobus, Volaris, now it’s up to TAR.

He commented that the Ciudad Juárez route has been very good for Mazatlán, since it has been an important market for the destination for many years, while the Querétaro route began operations on October 3, with two weekly flights.

Birreta affirmed that this summer vacation period more than 95% of the tourists who arrive at the destination are of national origin and the majority do so via road.

He affirmed that the demand and interest for vacationing in Mazatlán remains, more now that little by little confidence is being built, however, as a destination, occupancy levels should not be exceeded, above 50%.

The director of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies said that his priority is the correct application of health measures and protocols to avoid an increase in the number of infections by Covid-19.

We want people to know that this is precisely what we are focused on, because it will depend on this reopening being maintained and that families have an income

It will be from August 20 when TAR restarts flight operations on the Mazatlán-Querétaro and Mazatlán-Ciudad Juárez routes.
