At the Angela Peralta Theater, the Mazatlan mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres presented the economic reopening of the port to hoteliers, restaurateurs, and transport entrepreneurs.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa (July 29, 2020).- “The economic reopening plan carried out by the Government of Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres in the so-called “new normal”, puts Mazatlán as the only destination with tourist responsibility against the Covid-19 pandemic”, said Óscar Pérez Barros, State Tourism Secretary.

At the Angela Peralta Theater, where the Mayor of Mazatlán presented his plan to tourism entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, and other business owners, the Secretary of Tourism called on these sectors to comply with health measures and protocols to achieve an orderly advance in terms of tourism.

In his explanation, Benitez Torres said that the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic did not completely stop Mazatlán, as his Administration continued with urban public works, such as the reconstruction of Rafael Buelna and Camarón Sábalo avenues, as well as the embellishment of the Malecón.

He added that in the midst of the health crisis, work was done so that Mazatlán could return and show a new face to tourists and locals, and to achieve a balance between the economy and health, a catalog of health protocols was created for a safe economic reactivation.

He mentioned that the strategy of his Government is based on health guidelines of the Federation and the State, and part of it is the ordering of beaches, the creation of the Mztourist App, and the REDES program, to make Mazatlán an armored destination against Covid-19.

Mayor Benitez Torres invited all sectors to join this task, and as a first action called hoteliers to “adopt” for its conservation and care, part of the new garden of the central strip of Avenida Del Mar.

For her part, Gabriela Peña Chico, President of the DIF Mazatlán, took the opportunity to invite all businessmen to promote the citizen awareness campaigns of this municipal agency, on respect for accessibility and mobility spaces for people with disabilities.
