Mazatlan.- The coordinator of municipal Civil Protection, Eloy Ruiz Gastélum, took stock of the rains registered in the last hours in Mazatlán and where he stressed that the Local Committee for Emergency Attention provides timely follow-up both in the urban area and in the rural area of ​​the municipality.

He mentioned that after 12 hours of precipitation, the accumulated this morning was 42 millimeters.

The most important thing that happened in the rain was a minor landslide of a hill in the Olas Altas promenade.

“The last report is that we have accumulated 42 millimeters in the last 12 hours approximately. We have not had serious or important effects within the urban and rural area of ​​the municipality of Mazatlán, only a small breakdown or slippage of stony material in the area of ​​the coastal promenade at the height of Avenida Olas Altas without any consequences. Everything quiet so far. The rains are expected to continue, as has been the case in recent hours; We believe that there will be no major damages and all the personnel that make up the Local Committee for Emergency Care are doing the corresponding thing, monitoring low-lying areas, giving guidance to the citizen and pending how it evolves, “added Ruiz.

For his part, the deputy director of Municipal Transit, Francisco Guerra González, said that in the morning partial closings were made in some avenues and flooded streets, in order to prevent vehicles from being stranded.

He said that at the road junctions of Camarón Sábalo and Lomas de Mazatlán, La Marina, Cruz Cruz Lizárraga and Ferrusquilla, Insurgentes and the Mexican Army, as well as in Internacional and Privada del Faro, momentary closings were made, which will be repeated if necessary for the rains that may be registered in the next few hours.
