Escuinapa on alert for “corona-dengue”
Two cases of patients with dengue and Covid-19 at the same time have been registered in the city of Escuinapa.
Escuinapa, Sinaloa (July 22, 2020).- In addition to the risk of contracting Covid-19 if the prevention measures imposed by the Ministry of Health are not followed, in Escuinapa they are also vulnerable to dengue. And there have been already two cases in the municipality of patients who tested positive for both conditions at the same time.
Ceferino Pompa Quintero, liaison of the jurisdiction in Escuinapa and Rosario, reported that to date these two cases of people with “corona-dengue” have been detected, in both cases, the patients managed to get ahead, and are now 100% healthy.
Pompa Quintero recognized that dengue could be confused with Covid-19, since both conditions have similar symptoms, such as fever and bone pain, what makes them different are the respiratory problems caused by coronavirus.
Ceferino Pompa Quintero explained that a person can be infected with Covid-19 and dengue at the same time since these are different viruses that can coexist in the same organism, which also present similar symptoms, proof if this is the fact that two patients have tested positive for both conditions at the same time here in Escuinapa, Sinaloa.
